How to use Surerent (Landlords)

Once registered you can begin by clicking on the appropriate arrow on the Home page and following the prompts.

Decide which level of advertising you want, Standard, Power or Super.

Standard:

  • A basic placement allowing 1 picture

Power:

  • Allowing up to 10 pictures and 2 documents, e.g. floorplan/tenancy agreement clauses/application form. You advertisement will also have a highlighted background to help make it stand out.

Super:

  • Allows up to 20 pictures and up to 5 documents. It highlights in a deeper colour and is placed at the top of the pages.

Put as many details as you can such as room sizes and a description of the surroundings. (You may even consider a photograph of the immediate area around the property in the Power or Super levels of advertising to help prospective tenants get a better idea of the property’s suitability.)

Remember to include nearby facilities like schools, medical centres, shopping, transport links, parks etc.

To be sure of your property being picked up by the enhanced search facility you need to give as much detail as possible e.g. pets, smoking, laminate, shower.

It may help to try out the search facility to see what checkboxes are available to prospective tenants.

You also want to let tenants know why they should contact you about your property as the more interest shown in your advertisement the higher the chance of finding the ideal tenant.

You will also be able to activate the ‘make me an offer’ if you want to give your property a chance to find its own rent level.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ADVISE YOU NOT TO ACCEPT AN OFFER FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS NOT VIEWED THE PROPERTY AND ISN'T KNOWN TO YOU.
Once you accept an offer the feedback feature will be triggered - do not give feedback until the tenant has vacated the property or the current lease has ended - this will encourage them to be good tenants and make their feedback score very valuable.

Make all your charges quite clear in your advertisement. Setting up fees. Deposits (and how they are protected)

When you are approached by a prospective tenant take their feedback into consideration as it is a valuable feature in helping you make a decision to let.

To deter unsuitable applicants and get the point across to tenants that they need a good reputation don’t be afraid to state that you would prefer applicants with good feedback.
